On Dec 9, Sunwoda Yiwu New Energy Power Battery Production Base officially launched its first battery cell and PACK，marking the official start of production for the largest manufacturing project in Jinhua, Zhejiang in terms of individual investment scale. It also signifies that the Sunwoda Yiwu base has officially entered the rapid development and operation stage.
With a total investment of 21.3 billion yuan, the Sunwoda Yiwu base is jointly invested and constructed by Sunwoda EVB and the Yiwu Municipal Government. It aims to be an industry lighthouse factory and a future factory in Zhejiang Province. The project plans to produce 5 billion watt-hours of new energy power batteries annually. From factory planning and construction to equipment installation, research and development, and achieving the corresponding milestones on schedule, the base has taken only 12 months, setting a new speed record for Yiwu and demonstrating the "Sunwoda" strength of Yiwu.
After full production, the project is expected to have an annual output value of approximately 35 billion yuan, creating more than 6,000 job positions. It will establish a connection between the manufacturing end and the industrial chain, form an industrial chain strategic alliance, and make a significant contribution to Zhejiang Province in building a world-class automotive industry cluster. It will also inject strong impetus into the development of the new energy industry. During the event, customers such as Geely and Leap Motor attended the ceremony witnessing the launch and delivery of the new products, and Volvo's customer witnessed the first launch of the new product.

During the launch ceremony, Wang Mingwang, the founder of Sunwoda, stated that the Yiwu project achieved the goal of starting construction and launching products in just 12 months, setting a new record for Sunwoda's project construction. He believes that core technology cannot be bought, and market share cannot be obtained through other means. Nowadays, the new energy industry has shifted from "having or not having" to a new phase of "good or not good". In the future, the focus will be on effectively releasing production capacity, building green and intelligent factories, and actively contributing to Yiwu. Efforts will be made to build Sunwoda Yiwu base into a world-class benchmark enterprise in the new energy field, making continuous contributions to Yiwu's economic development.
