On July 5th, Sunwoda and Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory officially signed the Framework Agreement on Co-building the Songshan Lake Solid State Battery Public R&D Platform in Dongguan. According to the agreement, both parties will jointly establish the Songshan Lake Solid State Battery Public R&D Platform. This platform will gather outstanding domestic and international talents and teams in solid state battery research, forming a strong R&D force. Additionally, the platform will be equipped with advanced R&D equipment and laboratories, providing strong support for the development of solid state battery technology.

Solid state batteries, as an important direction in next-generation battery technology, offer advantages such as high energy density, high safety, and long lifespan. They are considered a crucial energy solution for future electric vehicles.

Currently, Sunwoda has achieved breakthroughs in both the research and mass production of solid state batteries: the first generation of semi-solid-state batteries with an energy density of 300 Wh/kg has been developed. The second generation of semi-solid-state battery products is currently in the pilot development stage, with an expected energy density of 400 Wh/kg. These products are projected to undergo vehicle validation by the end of this year. The first generation of fully solid state battery products with an energy density of 400 Wh/kg has undergone small-scale testing. The second generation of fully solid state batteries with even higher energy densities is intensively developing. Concurrently, the construction of the fully solid state battery production line is accelerating, with plans to achieve mass production capability by 2026.
