With the rapid growth of the new energy vehicle industry, battery safety and quality have become critical industry concerns.
Traditionally, power battery inspection has relied heavily on post-production sampling. This approach is not only inefficient and limited in accuracy, but also poorly suited to high-speed manufacturing lines—making early defect detection and proactive risk control extremely challenging.
To address this industry-wide challenge, Sunwoda has developed an advanced high-speed multi-modal CT inspection system for power batteries.
This breakthrough technology enables non-destructive, in-line inspection directly on the production line. Without disassembling the battery, internal structures can be precisely examined in real time—effectively shifting quality control from after-the-fact inspection to early-stage prevention.
The system is now successfully deployed across multiple Sunwoda production bases, including Deyang, Nanchang, Yiwu, and Nanjing.
Two major performance breakthroughs:
• 10×+ improvement in inspection efficiency, fully aligned with the demands of large-scale, high-throughput battery manufacturing—significantly improving productivity while reducing costs.
• Micron-level detection accuracy, achieved by combining multi-modal CT imaging with AI-based recognition, enabling millisecond-level identification of micro-defects far beyond industry averages.
Looking ahead, Sunwoda will continue to scale the application of this technology—strengthening battery quality from the source, supporting decarbonization in transportation, and contributing to the global carbon neutrality goals.
