In the first half of 2026, Sunwoda recorded significant growth in orders for its AIDC energy solutions, reflecting growing demand for reliable power infrastructure as AI computing continues to scale. As AI-driven workloads become more complex and dynamic, data center energy systems are evolving to meet higher requirements for power density, response speed, reliability and intelligent management.
Recently, CCTV Finance visited Sunwoda’s intelligent AIDC manufacturing base for its Economic Half-Hour program, documenting the complete process from cell manufacturing and battery pack assembly to system testing and delivery.
Powering a New Generation of AI Data Centers

Increasing server power density and fluctuating computing loads are driving demand for energy systems that can deliver stable power, fast response and efficient management.
“We are experiencing the third energy revolution, defined by lower-carbon energy production, intelligent energy management, and increasingly electrified consumption. Energy storage sits at the intersection of all three,” said Richard Liang, Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer of Sunwoda, during the CCTV Finance interview.
Liang described AIDC backup power as an emerging growth area for energy storage. “AI computing ultimately runs on power,” he said, highlighting safety and intelligent energy management as key requirements for the next generation of data center energy systems.
As these requirements evolve, batteries are taking on a broader role in rapid load response, power smoothing and energy management, alongside emergency backup.
High-Rate Energy Solutions for AIDC
Sunwoda’s dedicated AIDC solution uses a highly integrated, modular architecture that delivers up to 760 kW per cabinet. This higher power density helps reduce equipment footprint and lower total cost of ownership.

The system supports 5C pulse charging and 10C high-power discharging, enabling rapid response to fluctuations in AI computing loads. Sunwoda has also developed a product portfolio based on its 6C and 10C high-rate lithium-ion cells and an 800V high-voltage platform.
A prefabricated design reduces onsite integration and commissioning, helping shorten project deployment timelines. Sunwoda is also advancing an integrated “backup power + energy storage” model to serve a broader range of power and energy management needs across AI data center operations.
Integrated Technology and Intelligent Energy Management
Drawing on nearly three decades of battery development and ten years of energy storage system experience, Sunwoda has established capabilities spanning cells, battery packs, BMS, integrated BMS, and bidirectional DC-DC modules, system integration, testing, validation, and complete system delivery.

This end-to-end model enables coordinated development across cell performance, system safety, power response, and manufacturing quality.
Sunwoda is also applying its self-developed industrial AI simulation platform across product development and manufacturing. Its next-generation AIDC BMS integrates electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and AI Agent capabilities to support cell condition assessment, earlier risk identification, and more accurate SOC and SOH estimation.
Scaling Capacity for Global Delivery
To meet growing demand, Sunwoda is expanding its AIDC cell, battery pack, and system integration capacity. Two new production lines are scheduled to begin operation in the third quarter of 2026.

The company is also advancing overseas capacity plans based on global customer requirements, with related projects expected to be deployed progressively from 2027.
Through high-rate battery technology, intelligent energy management, and scalable manufacturing, Sunwoda is strengthening the energy infrastructure needed to support the continued development of AI computing.
