New 684Ah and 588Ah cells and the Sunwoda Liquid Cooling ESS 3.0 line up to meet fast-growing global demand for utility-scale, commercial and AI data center storage

SHENZHEN, China, September 15, 2026 — Sunwoda, a global lithium battery manufacturer and BNEF Tier 1 energy storage provider, is presenting its full energy storage portfolio at the International Digital Energy Expo (IDEE 2026). The expo runs September 15–17 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (Futian). This year's theme is "AI+" energy applications, and Sunwoda's lineup covers storage cells, integrated systems and AI data center backup solutions.
Growing Demand Worldwide
According to ICC data, global energy storage battery shipments reached 507.8GWh in the first half of 2026, up 97.5% year on year. Growth is coming from several markets at once: utility-scale projects in China, rising demand for utility and residential storage abroad, and supportive policies in Australia, the Middle East and Europe.
Sunwoda entered the energy storage sector in 2016. It now provides integrated storage solutions for grid, utility-scale, commercial and industrial (C&I), residential, data center and off-grid applications. Its work spans cell development, system integration, and AC/DC-side integration testing.
A Complete Cell Portfolio, 72Ah to 684Ah
Sunwoda offers storage cells at 72Ah, 85Ah, 102Ah, 280Ah, 314Ah, 588Ah and 684Ah. The range covers generation-side, grid-side and behind-the-meter applications.
· 684Ah stacked cell: More than 2 million units had been produced as of April 2026. The cell reaches a volumetric energy density of over 440 Wh/L. It uses a thermal-electrical separation design and a three-dimensional heat dissipation structure, which improve thermal management, system safety and long-term reliability.
· 588Ah wound cell: This cell is designed as a platform product and is now in mass production at Sunwoda's Deyang base. Gradient electrode technology allows single-pass coating, which increases coating weight by 20% with no loss of electrochemical performance. Energy density reaches 417 Wh/L, 5.6% higher than the previous 314Ah generation.
Both cells are now shipping in volume.
Sunwoda Liquid Cooling ESS 3.0: Fewer Parts, Lower Cost
At the system level, Sunwoda is showing its Sunwoda Liquid Cooling ESS 3.0, built on its in-house 588Ah cell. The series includes:
· a 6.26MWh system for large-scale power plants
· a 3.13MWh system for easier overseas shipping
· a 3.13MWh AC/DC-integrated system for fast deployment
Compared with the previous 5MWh product, the 6.26MWh system delivers 24.8% higher energy density with 40% fewer components. Its design uses fewer enclosures and simpler wiring, which cuts system complexity and balance-of-plant (BOP) costs for project developers.
Backup Power for AI Data Centers
As AI data centers need more backup power, Sunwoda's orders in this segment have grown significantly. The company has built a fully in-house product line centered on high-rate lithium batteries and an 800V high-voltage platform. These solutions are already in commercial operation at multiple data center projects in China and overseas, with stable performance and effective load regulation.
With projects in more than 100 countries and regions, Sunwoda will keep investing in technology and working with partners worldwide to advance the global energy transition.
